Private vs NHS — what’s the difference?

• NHS eye tests: Funded for eligible patients (examples include: under 16s; 16–18 in full-time education; 60+; those with diabetes or glaucoma; people on certain benefits; and close relatives of glaucoma patients aged 40+).

• Private eye tests: Available to anyone who wants more flexibility on appointment times, extra diagnostics, or longer consultations.
